Welcome to the Friends of Upshire section!
Welcome to the Friends of Upshire’s very own page on Upshire Primary School’s website!
We would like to tell you a little bit about what we do and why we do it!
The Friends of Upshire is currently made up of parents of children who attend the school and pre-school and staff of the school, but you could be a grandparent or maybe an aunt or uncle or carer of a child who attends the school – all help is always gratefully received by the Friends of Upshire!
We are like minded people who simply want to contribute to the school. The Friends of Upshire has several regular events throughout the school year that we organise to raise funds to benefit ALL the children who attend the pre-school and the school.
Being a Member of the Friends of Upshire
You can give as much of your time or as little, we are always grateful for any help we receive. We have some parents, who are able to devote an enormous amount of time, and we thank them for it, but we also have people only able to help at one or two events a year and we thank them also. To become a member of the Friends of Upshire you do not have to commit to every event, meeting, get-together, just come along when and if you can as there is always a job that needs doing.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support at all the events the Friends of Upshire organises, without you attending we would not be able to raise funds for the school and in turn support all our children.
If you would like to know more or are interested in becoming an active member of the Friends of Upshire please feel to leave your details with Ms Messer in the school office and one of our members will get in contact with you.
We want to re-furnish our school library to make it more accessible and inviting. This will be a big project so we need lots of ideas to raise money.
Do you know anyone who can make wooden furniture? Do you have the time to help us?
Please contact Lynne McPheat or Sadie Messer if you are able to support this project.
