Owls Afterschool Club

The Owls Afterschool Club is also based in our Pre-school and has been set up to provide childcare after school for the pupils of Upshire School.


The Club is open from 3.10pm to 5.45pm Monday to Friday during term time. We are able to take children from the age of 3 up to 11 years.


We are flexible to meet your needs:

  • bookings can be on a regular or on an ad hoc basis;
  • children can attend any number of days a week from 3.10pm.


Children attending the later sessions at the Afterschool Club will be offered a snack.


The cost of the club is as follows:





3.10pm to 4.15pm

No snack included


3.10pm to 4.30pm No snack included £4.50

4.15pm to 5.45pm

Snack included – this is to accommodate children attending other after school activities


3.10pm to 5.45pm

Snack included – full session



£1.00 sibling reduction will apply to children attending the full session only.  All siblings must be in attendance to qualify.  If children are not collected before 6.00pm, parents/carers will be charged a late pick up fee of £10.00.


The Afterschool Club Aims:

  • to support working parents by providing a high quality service which meets the needs of both parents/carers and children;
  • to  provide a reliable, safe, supportive and welcoming environment where children can play, have fun, relax and be with friends;
  • peace of mind for parents/carers, knowing that your child is safe and happy in a club that is reliable and offers a consistent service.


The Afterschool Club will:

  • provide the highest possible standard of care in secure and supportive surroundings;
  • create an environment where children can relax after the school day, we want them to feel comfortable and happy;
  • encourage children to join in a variety of activities and play;
  • create opportunities to support learning (by helping with homework and reading);
  • employ caring and qualified supervisory staff.



There will be one Afterschool Club Leader and one Assistant, both have an enhanced CRB, are First Aiders and have a certificate in Food Hygiene.



The Club starts at 3.10pm.   All Key Stage 2 children booked into the Club will be give a Club Card and after the end of school will come to the meeting point in the ICT Suite.  Children from the Reception Class and Key Stage 1 will be collected from their classroom and taken to the meeting point.  Once at the Club the register is taken Reception and Key Stage 1 children will be taken over to the Pre-school setting where Afterschool Club takes place.  Key Stage 2 children have be able to stay in the ICT Suite where they will be supported with homework and reading.



Only people authorised by the parents/carers on your child’s registration form are allowed to collect your child, unless staff are informed otherwise.  All children should be collected by 5.45pm.  If you are running a little late please let us know.  Children who are not collected by 5.50pm and where we have not been informed that you or the person authorised to pick up your child is running late,  a late pick up fee of £10.00 will be added to your invoice.


Numbers are limited to ensure a safe adult:child ratio, so please ensure that you book your child’s place in advance
