School Closure January 2021

Dear Parents/Carers,

Firstly, we hope you enjoyed spending time with your immediate family over the Christmas period; not quite the Christmas we expected and now not quite the start to 2021 we were hoping for.

As advised by the government, we will only be open for the children of critical workers (e.g. NHS staff, police and others in frontline services who are critical to the COVID response) and our vulnerable children from Wednesday 6th January 2021

If you require critical worker provision for your child please forward a letter from your employer, citing how you are personally critical to the emergency COVID-19 response to admin@upshire.essex.sch.uk as soon as possible so we are able to make the relevant arrangements.  Please only use this provision if there is absolutely no other alternative.  The government advice is clear, where you are able to care for your child at home, you should do so. This is essential to save lives.

Your child’s learning is important to us and we will continue to help your child to learn through remote learning, which will start on Tuesday 5th January 2021.  The Reception Class will have their own home learning sent via Tapestry.  Children in Year 1 to Year 6 will access their remote learning by logging onto Purple Mash each morning and completing the tasks set on their 2Do list.
